In this Eunos HDB BTO, you notice the glow rather than the fixtures. The home uses concealed LED COB strip lighting in a warm 3000K, tucked into the wall cove, under kitchen cabinets, inside a shoe-cabinet niche, and behind the mirror cabinet and vanity in the bathrooms. In the bedroom, a dim-to-warm wall light adds a soft glow for winding down.
At a glance
- Home: HDB BTO, Eunos
- Lighting: COB Lightstrip (concealed) and Orb wall light (bedroom)
- Colour temperature: 3000K warm white for the strips; the Orb dims warmer, down to a cosy 1800K
- Areas: wall cove, kitchen, shoe-cabinet niche, two bathrooms, bedroom
The approach
A calm, warm home that feels comfortable in the evening, with most of the light sources kept out of sight.
Under-cabinet strip lighting brings out the backsplash and lights the countertop.
A warm strip under the shelf turns a shoe-cabinet niche into a feature.
Light under the mirror cabinet washes the backsplash, with a soft glow beneath the vanity.
A soft glow under the floating vanity, with a bright ceiling panel for even light.
The Orb wall light at a higher brightness: a soft, warm white beside the bed.
Dimmed down, the same light turns warmer and softer, a cosy amber for winding down.
Why it works
- Hidden light source. Because you don't see the strips themselves, the walls and worktops glow softly without hot spots or glare.
- Warm tones throughout. Every strip is 3000K, so the tone stays matched from room to room, and it flatters the timber cabinetry and stone-look finishes. In the bedroom, the Orb wall light is dim-to-warm: the more you dim it, the warmer it gets, down to a cosy 1800K amber for the evening.
- Layered lighting. The under-cabinet strip lights the kitchen counter (task light), while the niche and wall cove add depth (accent light). The bedside Orb adds a soft, dimmable layer for winding down. See our guide to lighting layers.
- Plan it with your carpentry and electrician. Strip recesses are easiest to build in before cabinets and ceilings are closed up. A wall light needs a power point at the right spot before the walls are painted, and the Orb needs an external dimmer switch, so let your electrician know in advance.
