Color Temperatures

To put it simply, color temperature describes how warm (orange) or cool (white) a light looks, measured in Kelvin (K). 

The Lower the Kelvin = warmer (more orange)
The Higher the Kelvin = cooler (white)

Allow me to explain the 3 main primary color temperatures thats available for you to use:


3000K — warm and relaxing. Very popular all-round choice for homes.

4000K — Neutral white, looks clean and bright without being harsh. Common in kitchens, offices, bathrooms.

6500K — Cool, bluish-white light, close to daylight. Bright and energizing, but can feel clinical or harsh in a home setting. Commonly used in garages, workspaces, or task-heavy areas rather than living spaces.

There are also more options for you that are more specialized:


2700K — Warmer than 3000K, may take some time to get used to it. Feels very cozy, like a traditional incandescent bulb. Common for bedrooms, living rooms.

3500K — This is currently a very popular choice. A soft in-between white, neither warm nor stark. Works well in across the whole house, or a good choice with minimal contrast for Kitchen and Study room when you opt for 3000K for the rest of the areas meant for relaxing.

Tunable White (2700K–6500K) — A single lamp that lets you adjust the color anywhere in that range via an app or remote — warm for evenings, cool/bright for daytime tasks.

Dim to Warm (1800K–3000K) — As you physically dim the light lower via a dimmer switch, it automatically shifts warmer (down to candle-like 1800K), mimicking how old incandescent bulbs behaved. Popular for a cozy, romantic dimming effect.
